There was a retired general on Greta Van Susteren last night.
Apparently there is a US force in North Africa. They had Predator drones over the
scene almost immediately and they are no faster than a C172.
As of 1 October 2008, it is the Air Force component of United States Africa Command
(USAFRICOM), serves as the air and space component to U.S. Africa Command located at
Stuttgart, Germany. In this capacity, Seventeenth Air Force is referred to as U.S.
Air Forces Africa (AFAFRICA). 17 AF was inactivated in April 2012.
Turns out there was a AC130 gun ship within a couple of hours of the consulate.
Even if it had to fly from Stuttgart 1100 miles away C130 flying time would only be
3 hours. Israel 873 miles 2.5 hours.
What would be awesome is a converted Boeing KC-767 gun ship.
That would get there in less than 2 hours from Stuttgart and 1.5 hours from Israel.
In addition to the 105 mm cannon from the AC130 a 37 mm Gatling gun out of a A10
could be installed. Poof the magic dragon hot breath blast :)
The attack took 7 hours. Three 105 mm shells would have wiped out the
attackers in a matter of seconds.

Naval Air Station Sigonella
NAS Sigonella is located in eastern Sicily approximately 16 km west of the city of
Catania and approximately 24 km due south of Mount Etna, an active volcano. It
occupies a tract of land at NATO Maritime Airfield Sigonella which is operated and
hosted by the Italian Air Force. The U.S. has maintained a permanent presence at the
activity since 1959. NAS Sigonella provides consolidated operational command and
control, administrative, logistical and advance logistical support to U.S.
and other
NATO forces. In the discharge of its mission, NAS Sigonella is assisted by a number
of tenant organizations and support units.
The mission of US Forces at Sigonella, Rota, and Souda Bay is to provide Command
Control and Logistics Support to US And NATO Operating Forces. These three
facilities are undergoing a transformation from Maritime Patrol Airfields to
Multi-role "Hubs"
providing crucial air-links for USAF strategic airlift in support of CENTCOM and
Africa Area contingency operations.
The primary purpose of US Naval Air Station Sigonella is to provide consolidated
operational, command and control, administrative, logistical and advanced logistical
support to US and other Nato forces. NAS Sigonella is the major support element for
US SIXTH Fleet Mediterranean. It is the strategic center of the Mediterranean.
Recent political events in the strategic center of the Mediterranean and Near East
have greatly increased operational requirements and there has been emergent mission
tasking.
NAS Sigonella supports a rotational VP squadron, an HC squadron, C-2, C-9, and
C-130 detachments, shore-based fleet aircraft, transient NATO aircraft and US Air
Force transient aircraft. The Augusta Bay Port Facility provides fuel, ammunition
and supplies to SIXTH Fleet combat and logistics support ships. The Niscemi
Telecommunications Facility and Pachino Target Range also provide support to the
Fleet. Additionally, this station is the routing point for trainsient fleet
personnel snd fleet cargo movements thought Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia. There
are currently about 2,930 active duty personnel, 1,250 Italian and American
civilian personnel, and family members number about 3,200.

The flight distance from Sigonella to Bengasi is about 300 miles.
Less than an hour for a C130 gun ship.
On Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace asked Senator Mark Warner D-VA on the senate
intelligence board a direct question about the armament on the drone over head the
consulate.
He refused to answer.
It is no secret that Predator drones carry Hell fire missiles.

What good is a military force with the best technology known to man when you have a
gutless leader who won't use them or even acknowledge the threat is there in the
first place. The father of one of the Navy Seals that bravely gave his life
fulfilling his personal commitment to himself, the Naval tradition and his country
said it best. "Better to die with honor than to live as a coward". The Navy usually
has an aircraft carrier in the region stationed in what we affectionately call the
Med, "you know, a big ship with planes on it," the president knows about these, which
could have had an F-18 there in less than an hour which carries air to ground
missiles that could have been laser targeted on the ground or by air. There was no
excuse for those guys not to have support other than they were written off as
expendable by the highest levels of our government, period!!!!!!

The entire event took seven hours to unfold.
The latest info has the original Predator sent out from Matubi unarmed. It started to
run out of fuel. A second, also unarmed, Predator was sent from Sigonella 300 miles
away which probably took 2 hours to get there. Since the White House, the State
Department and the CIA knew what was happening in real time, why was the second
Predator unarmed? In fact why was a C130 gun ship not sent from Sigonella when it
could have made it in less than an hour.
The question is: where was commander Obama in chief when this was going on?
Was he AWOL? If he was watching our soldiers being killed by mortars and telling
the Air Force not to kill the enemy he should be impeached for cowardliness in the
face of the enemy. If this was an officer in the army doing this he would face a
court martial and if found guilty possible shot by a firing squad.
