I feel sorry for everybody in the US. 50% of them were dumb enough
to bring it on themselves. They have no idea what they just did. Perhaps
they will figure it out in the next four years.
IMHO the next 4 years will be a disaster. Grid lock (as it should be.) and
20
trillion dollars in US debt. I am not sure the US will ever recover.
I am very old and it will not affect me much one way or the other but a
wonderful country to live in has just been destroyed. Private aviation
is finished as the price of fuel will not come down. The finest health care
in the world will be decimated. We are now well on the way to becoming
a third world nation.

How could we possibly win? Obama outright purchased Ohio and Michigan with
tax payer money (future taxpayer money borrowed from China). Now that
there is enough Hispanic vote to swing not just California but also Nevada,
New Mexico, Florida, and Colorado hope is pretty much lost. Those flood
gates were opened a generation ago and now they can never be shut off.
The administration will keep them wide open to make sure there is a ready
supply of voters just a generation away. Over the next 50 years the western
states will become an upscale extension of Mexico including its corruption,
gangs and crime.
All because a generation is more interested in Facebook and gadgets and
never had to learn history well enough to understand it. Ok, well, and the
inevitable population bubble is playing it role too with so many people
never having lived outside a city.
Unfortunately, when the US erodes so goes most of the rest of the world
(Thailand will likely not remain its current bastion, for example). It
will still be a better place to live than most other places (for at least
100 years or so). The course of change over the last couple of decades has
doomed not just the United States, but also western society which will
morph into something that more resembles China in terms of population
density and deeply polarized social inequality: No upper middle class,
tiny elite class, moderate working class, and a huge class living in
poverty. Ironically, that is exactly what the democratic platform portends
to be fighting through social programs that can never possibly be big
enough but will tax the upper middle class out of existence... then the
rest of the middle class.
