You might consider Tiger Direct as well. They have started to carry
Arduino hardware. I don't know how their prices compare. New Egg tends
to have better prices but I don't know if they carry Arduino hardware.

Can you give me a step by step on how to install a wmv codec in CentOS
for maovie player? CentOS is working well but I still don't have the
wireless

For A/V files you need to have the appropriate codecs. I suggest you go
to http://www.fluendo.com/ where you can find all the A/V software you
probably need. I use both their codec package and their DVD player
software. The prices are reasonable.

Windows wmv files work with Gstreamer. You will need the appropriate
codec which is included in the Fluendo codec package.

There are other workaround methods but they get progressively more
complicated as each new workaround begins to conflict with other
workarounds and with base functionality.

You can enable software repositories like rpmfusion where you can
install vlc which is an A/V program. It will work but you will have a
minor conflict, that is safe to ignore, with the H-264 library package.
CentOS will notify you that the package is out of date and that there
is an update available for it but the update will not install because
some of the vlc packages depend on the out of date H-264 library.

As for the wireless interface, I would post a support request to the
CentOS user mailing list. Mail List CentOS Users <centos@centos.org
I've had good results with this group. They will want to know what
version of CentOS you are using.

They will want to know what model of laptop you are using.

They will want to know what wireless chip you have. The chip is
probably detectable with the lspci command. If you can figure out what
chip you have you might be able to find the appropriate Linux driver
with a little bit of google work.

Most of the time you will be able to figure out which driver you need to
install. If you can figure out what chip you have tell me and I'll do
the google work if you need.

Thanks Mark. I'll wait awhile until I am in a better position to do
all that. How soon do you think CentOS will come out with a more
modern version? I don't care for Mint but it has all that built in.

CentOS tracks Red Hat Enterprise Edition.  When Red Hat releases a new
Enterprise Edition CentOS will follow along soon after.

Don't expect a great deal of change from one release to another.  This
is not a development release, it is a stable commercial release.  No
leading edge applications here.  All that fancy new stuff is in the
rpmfusion repos.  None of that is in the base install.

Point upgrades, from 6.3 go 6.4, will happen automatically by the
software updater software.  If you haven't configured it yet go to
System/Preferences/Software Updates.

Thanks again Mark. So far it is REAL stable.
I just found joe (AKA Wordstar) thankfully and installed it.
Joe still does a lot of things that most editors cannot do.
Been using DOS Wordstar since the late 70's :)
CentOS Administration > Add/Remove Software could not find it.
