That looks like a fun project.
We had some trouble with the ZBasic board so we are using Arduino ADK now.

You will have some trouble with the shaft drive prop so don't idle the
engine under 2000 RPM. You should be using about a 3:1 gear box.

Don't try to use a flush NACA scoop for cooling as that will not work.
Use a P51 type scoop on the side of the fuselage instead.

Dear Paul,

Yesterday, I had an nice call from Mr.Häberer (who is well know to me) and
we will stay in contact.

In my BD-5 I use a Schiebel S1 (not commercial available, non-disclosure
agreement) single rotor 55 HP at 7100 rpm, double ignition/double injection
engine and the original bd-5 drive system (no problems, now > 200 hours -
190 hours with customized 2-stroke rotax 503/552).

As I have read your books and studied your homepage, I made no mistakes with
the cooling system (the engine is overcooled).

I got the source code of the S1 engine control software and will it modify
for my usage.
