Subject: Using scrap Lyc crank shafts to build PSRUs

Making your own shaft is very expensive as it must be heat treated,
ground, nitrated and cad plated.

The cut down Lyc shaft has plenty of meat for a bolt on planet carrier flange
so a one piece thrust washer or double needle bearing can be
used.

Look at the attached picture.
Who drew this up?
What Lycoming engine is represented by the shaft?
Do the castings exist?
Do the drawings for the castings exist, have a casting guy standing by.
Milo

I did Milo. If you send me a scrap Lyc shaft I will
measure it and send a dwg with dimensions for making a pattern.

Paul Lamar

Terrific Paul, I will take you up on your offer as soon as I can get
the crankshaft.
