Hi Paul!: thanks a lot for the wonderful sendings about RCEs.  I
have just one doubt: the title of this e-mail is: "12A Dyno Chart &
BSFC", this is one one best new year gifts I may have had, as I was
considering installing a Wankel RCE in my 1976 AMC Pacer base, now
it has a 4.2 lit (258?) 6-L engine with single vase carburetor, a
power of 98 HP, and a Chrysler Torqueflite 3- speed plus reverse
Automatic Transmission, I bought a Mazda Auto Trans for a RCE, and
as the power output of the Mazda 12A and of the 6-L AMC are roughly
the same, the AMC engine weighs near 400 pounds, I guess the 12A is around
135 pounds, just the gain in weight would improve overall car's
performance, and the only change needed may be finding the right
final axle gears ratio; a German autor Knapp, points in his book (in
German): "Wankel in the test bench", that by 1976 the fuel economy
of rotaries and contemporary reciprocating engines was roughly the
same, the promised data about 12A would be of great help to me,
provided the case it refers to an stock engine, and not to one
specially tuned and modified for use in airplanes.

So, hope it was a temporary mixing of e-mail titles, and having soon
the opportunity of looking at the 12A data, hope also finding a 12A
for sale in good condition.

Have a nice week, best regards, salut +

I had no idea they sold those things in Spain.

The Pacer needs a 3 rotor :)

The 12A engines were about 200 pounds without the intake and exhaust. The cast
iron end housings and rotors are the problem. P-ported and you have 250 to 300
HP available. That is an improvement, BUT the torque is low for that car.
There is or was a 1940? Ford in the USA with a 13B engine. '40 Fords weigh
about 3500 pounds and the Pacer will be close to that. You would need 4:1
gears and maybe a turbo to make it perform. The Mazda Eunos Cosmo came in 13B
and 20B power. The 13B cars were slow accelerating. the 20B cars are fairly
exhilarating I hear. Both Eunos engines are turbocharged.
