Does anyone have an electrical system schematic of their aircraft they
wouldn't mind sharing, a big plus if it has a EC2
and EM3 (or former EM2).
One other thing, i was looking at solid state circuit breaker
offerings and before i dismissed the VPX as being too
costly i noticed that they only use 1 contactor between battery and
unit, that means (to my understanding anyway) that
despite all the redundancy's of having 2 separate circuits within each
unit, if the battery contactor lets go your'e
still out of luck.
This leads me to want to have a separate feed from the battery to the
essential bus, what about cutting out the 1 amp
draw from a second battery contactor and rather have a manual "pull
on" type contactor if it exists, has anyone tried this

There is a cheaper alternate to the VPX I saw advertised in Kitplanes
before. Closer to $300, not $1200. There i nothing stopping you from
wiring up another contactor in parallel to the first contactor as a back
up. You could even use a heavy duty switch, maybe a circuit breaker.
Some use a marine battery cut off switch. What you described we call it
the single point failure.
A battery cut off sw. also reduce the chance of a electrical fire when
your bird is unattended, but you might have to leave a little power
(1/10 amp fuse?) on to some devices for their memories.
