I ordered the parts for the new MM prototype this morning
 and I just got them. That is great service.
 They are 80 miles away. Cost was $82 including Ca tax
 and shipping.

Not an issue for experimental aircraft. You can use any thing you want.
These are the sizes used and for 6G design the factor of safety is 2 or 3.

In other words 12 or 18 G's :)

That is simply because the coupling nuts fit the 4130 tube sizes needed for buckling reasons.
