Got the DD15 $1000 TC gear box. Output RPM about 6000 so a cog belt
into the nose of the 3 rotor should do it. Turbine RPM about 60,000.

The 3 rotor emissions crap is layer after layer :)

All I need now is the $1500 turbine.

The gear box and fluid coupling weighs 25 pounds.

Hi Paul, looks good. I would replace the stock turbo set up for a
single aircraft sized turbo. It would be lighter and more efficient.
If high egt is a problem, one of the water injection companies has a
controller that can use egt as an input. Using bypass air from the
turbo which might need another compression stage to mix with exhaust
to lower egt is possible. More mass flow through the turbines and
some of the work would be recovered by the power turbine. Will you
be at SZP Sun.?

This is not flight hardware. The idea is to minimize the
modifications to demonstrate a drop in BSFC. I'll be using a 4 barrel
750 CFM carb in a pressure box.

Paul,

Forgive me for not following this as close as I'd like, busy as ever on
this end.

I take it gear box is a Detroit Diesel Item. But the real magic is you
have figured out a simpler PSRU off the flywheel end? I take it the TC
unit will run off the pulley end?

Paul if this thing works, so many places I could see it fitting into on
top of Aircraft, to replace Diesels.

* Co-Gen unit where the waste heat is used for a heat-pump.
* Spec-Op type speed boat, ( Omnivorous to boot, on all of these )
* Tanks.
*  Helicopters, instead of Turbines, not to mention large UAV's.
* And the list could go on and on...

This is where I am going to mount the TC gear box. The other side of
the 3 rotor engine has too much stuff in the way of sequential twin turbos.
The exhaust from the twin turbo's will go down and under the engine and
come up on the spark plug side. I will lose a bit of exhaust energy
here but so be it. This is just a demo engine.

The reason the gear box  is so big and heavy while only generating 50 HP is
it must deal with the severe diesel torque pulses. The gear you
see takes the full brunt of the torsional abuse as the fluid coupling is inside
the box in front of the 10:1 turbine reduction gear.
