Paul,

One out fit got back to me so far. They question how many are
required ?

My guess is 100. I just thought of a way of making them. I can get a
hex head 10 mm with 1 mm thread pitch bolts and EDM a hex socket in
the head. Then machine the head to a flat head.

However I already redesigned the coupling to use the hex head bolts
and bought the material today.

You will have to use some pretty small hex sockets in the head to avoid
cutting into the base of the socket when you cut the chamfer to form the
underside of the flat head.  Maybe you can find some hex head bolts with
an extra tall hex head that will provide a bit more working room.
