Got the exhaust gases to the turbine part of the system tack welded
together today.
I will have it professionally welded. I am not good enough to be
trusted :)

It takes a long time to order parts and have them shipped from all
over the US.
Surprisingly truck exhaust components are not all that available
locally. Especially
in the larger sizes 3.5 inch and up.

The coupling to the turbine was tricky as it was designed to be
connected directly to
the output of a turbo charger.

Paul any gut feel what the final weight will be of the flight version yet?
Could the DD-15 parts be milled to reduce weight, or some other method?

My guess is 500 pounds. I don't have a scale to measure it.

Yes. The collector housing around the turbine is cast iron,
Most of that can be cut way and replaced by relatively thin
321 SS sheet. Might save 25 pounds.
