The engine hoist I buy from Harbor Freight do not fit under a car with out jacking it up. Then the jack conflicts with the hoist. I have bought two
 so far. One for a friend. Same problem.

 I had to deliver this engine and I had to back the Honda Odyssey up on a couple of ramps to insert the engine.
You can see them along side the engine.

The problem is the casters are merely bolted on the bottom of the
2.5 inch square steel tubes. The combination of the caster height and the tube is enough to interfere with the chassis.

I could not find a lower caster with enough load carrying capacity to work.
They require so much real estate to swivel it is difficult to cantilever them off the end of the tube.

So I came up with this scheme.

Arbor Freight sells these  low profile ball casters for a mere $1.69 each but they only handle
110 pounds so I used four for each side giving me a total of 880 pounds.

Hopefully things will deflect enough to equalize the load.

I did this now as I have to get the 500 pound turbo compound engine down to Mazdatrix soon for dyno'ing.

Almost as much "fun" as putting my engine into the back of my Pacifica at Sun n Fun. I had to ride around with it for a week till I got my lift from Harbor Freight. Then I was able to remove it myself. Placed it on furniture dolly so I could move it around my garage. Thanks again for your help at SnF.
