I just got home after spending spent part of three days at OSH.
I did not manage to find a single rotary powered aircraft on the line.
Also ... I did not see any of our tax dollars at work; no USAF or
AirGuard aircraft in all the usual places. The large Plaza area was
mostly empty for the first two days of my visit. FedEx finally showed up
with one of their big freight-haulers, but aside from that the place was
rather empty.
I suspect that Wisconsin Governor Walker's stand against some of
Washington's favorite causes is the reason for us Wisconsinites being
treated as the ugly sister.
My guess is that the number of attendees was down too. though the
weather was rather cool, even cold, on Monday

Same thing at the Dayton air show. The pointed lack of all military
equipment is a result of the Republicans
allowing Obama's sequester to pass into law unopposed. The presidents
team had full budget authority and chose to make this 2.2% reduction as
obvious and painful as possible. This to be expected when you hire
a man born in Kenya, raised as a Muslim in Indonesia, and converted to
Communism by his grand parents,
to run the USA.

OK, I can't hold back anymore- any conservative knows that they
should have not only let the budget cuts stand, but should have
insisted on twice the amount. Our economy has devolved into a system
that is essentially dependent on the government to hand out money
that was stolen from the working people who now are a minority. They
take half of what I earn and GIVE it away to either people that dont
work or unions that have paid off enough politicians to get salaries
more than twice the "civilian" pay or to foreign governments as pay
offs. Detroit is an example of what happens if unions and
politicians are allowed to run around without adequate supervision-
40 billion in pensions unfunded and the largest bankruptcy in the
history of our country.
This is easy math- as an employer at the union negotiations, lets
say that I agree to pay into a fund that will let my employees
retire in 20 years with 80% of their salary like the firemen and
police do in Miami. Since I dont have the extra money to do that at
the moment I figure I have 20 years to work on it. In the mean time,
the same union increases the pay scale until it is more than 200% of
what it was when we started in just a few years. Any idiot can see
that in 20 years my total cost for employees and benefits will be
more than twice what I am paying out right now- in 50 years it will
be more than 3 times without cost of living or other raises. Add in
the annual raises, insurance cost increases etc and the increase is
exponential, and unsustainable.
Our economic system has to reboot- it has no choice. The federal
government is borrowing 85 million a day (report a couple of days
ago on NBC) to pay its bills. If the government cuts its spending
like it has to, people cry and say it is hurting the economy. If it
doesnt cut the spending, it goes bankrupt like Detroit. It is going
to happen.
It cant be both ways- you cant borrow and spend your way out of
debt, and you cant stop the whining of people that want something
for nothing.
If a business is failing, two things must immediately happen for it
to survive- cut costs and increase revenue. If you just fire people,
then production drops, revenue drops and you go broke. If you dont
cut costs, you go broke only sooner.
In the case of the government, they have to stop giving away money
first, cut unnecessary costs, and then increase revenue. This
revenue increase is not done through tax increases, but through tax
breaks to the people that are working and generating the income to
begin with. When business have more cash, they hire more people that
pay taxes. Every person that goes to work and pays taxes 1. puts
money into the government, and 2. stops getting a free paycheck from
the government. The answer has and always will lie with the working,
productive people not the 47% nor the government.
We need more budget cuts, and deeper than these so that our economy
will transition back to a working sustainable model. The government
based liberal give it all away economies are failing the world over,
and our number is coming up. When you wean a baby off of milk they
cry, until they get used to eating solid food that will carry them
through the rest of their lives.
