My cheap Chinese press break combo shear will not bend 25 inch
long .062" thick 5052-O. Either that or my 5052 is age hardened
and my oven is not big enough to normalize it.
I don't want to use the torch trick as it is messy and
imprecise.

I had 20 feet of 4 inch steel channel lying around
bought for another project that did not work out.

Two channels back to back make a good I beam.
What is needed in a press break are stiff beams.

The verticals are 2 inch angle iron.
Held together with 1/2 inch bolts. Nothing I can't
drill on the drill press and cut with a friction chop saw.

I bought two 4 ton bottle jacks from harbor freight for
$17 each.

This is the plan. I will use the dies out of the
Chinese press break and use the rest of it left over as a shear.

If you tried to buy a press break the cost
is $5000 and up.

You will need a torsion shaft attached to the fix upper with bushing holder part and 2 ams attached to the moving bed for the moving bed evently.
