Since I am not going to run the 3 rotor TC in a vehicle
I was thinking of using a cheap 110 volt to 220 volt AC transformer
and use a voltage doubler circuit to jack it up
440 volts DC.

What do you guys think?

Will save a whole bunch of money.

The schematic was in error. Here is the corrected version.

   I think a Triad C40X inductor will do, depending on your final hi volts and duration of the switch on time.

The switch on time is less than one ms.
