Am I correct that you are going to fire multiple pulses for each firing
event?

If so, have you worked out the firing BTDC  in degrees for the initial
spark? Are you going to keep it at the 22 degrees BTC that has been
talked about here, or are you going to try to use variable timing and
advance?

My latest idea is use a trigger wheel made from a $22 sprocket with half
the teeth removed and two pickup ups 180 degrees apart. One for the
front rotor
and one for the rear.  That will fire the plugs  stating at 22 BTDC and
every
20 degree there after using 2 reluctance pick ups.  Each trigger event may
or may not fire the plug twice.  I took your advice and used the LM1815
zero
crossing detector chip.

The ignition module is still in development. Working with Robert
Leclercq   we have
made some major improvements lately . Robert is also working on a
parallel approach.

One could make the pick ups  rotate relative to the e-shaft manually
like a Ford Model T to advance the spark at high altitude and engine low
power.
That has proven to enhance the MPG by Klaus's  Light Speed Engineering.
Klaus is my hanger neighbor.

This has kind of side tracked me from the turbo compound but it is
very cold in the hanger these days.) Global warming is a scam :)

One of the problems with retrofitting a better ignition system is the non standardization
of the front cover. Every time Mazda comes out with a new engine the front cover
is redesigned as are the CAS mounts. The only consistent thing are the oil pan bolts.
This pick up mount is designed to bolt on using longer pan bolts.
