Ducted fan will not get them over 130 MPH or so.

The other major problem is water spray through the prop.

These guys are babe's in the amphibian woods or scam artist :)

I thought so too but wasn't going to say anything. The floats should
stick out past the nose for when you hit a dock. You want to be up
out of the waves and have some room for wing clearance over docks.
Doesn't look like a very stable design with so much "side" up front.
From a marketing stand point how many people can afford to buy and
operate such a pig. Want a good amphib, a beaver, a widgeon, a goose,
why reinvent the wheel.

The Gweduc was profiled in one of the experimental magazines some months back.
A promising project but don't know if it will go into production.
