Hi Paul. Did was there ever version of diesel rotary? Thanks.
Not so far.
Paul Lamar..... In Parkes NSW
Is it possible for me to order a custom made rotor with compression
ratio of 18:1? I could come up with way to adapt pump and injectors
to it. The biggest concern with diesel is the turbulent of the
combustion chamber however. Do you think the rotor action can make
complete fuel burnt possible? Do you see any draw back with a diesel
rotary base on the 13b? Thanks.

Not possible. A depression in the rotor face is necessary to allow
combustion.

I guess that also from purely geometrical reasons, a single stage
Wankel RCE can't attain such a high CR, the top limit is described
somewhere, but I don't remember where; anyway, there's an old photo
of people in MAN machining a very big size rotor, that If I remember
well has no or little combustion recess. In the 1981 K Yamamoto book?
In the 'Wankel motor und sein erfinder' site? Thanks for your
attention. Best regards. Salut

Jose,
It appears the rotor in the first pic is still being machined, looks
like a giant lathe behind it. The rotor being placed in the housing
the second pic very clearly has a large and long depression, much
larger than Mazda's.

Mr Paul and friends.
I think just about compression ratio. turbo charger easily make it
possible.
for me I just considering engine as generator. it's also extremely
easier.
and I also think about extra piston at intake side. because Rotary
engine's intake part never get pressure.
so It's very easy to put an extra device on that. so It easily adding
much more copress ratio and much more air intake easily.
Not just rotating rotor we can install additional air sucking
mechanism at engine.
I will show or upload video in future. after some time.

Hi!: when reviewing other subjects, I've found that the
discussion of SAE papers 710581, by
Yanmar Diesel, on their Rotary Engines, and 710582, on the
development status of
Curtiss-Wright Stratified Charge RCE, deals also with the subject
of Wankel Diesel, there's
even a photo of a single-stage Diesel by Yanmar, they say
development was discontinued
because cold start and combustion problems.
Hope you like this. Best regards.
