Hi Paul,

Could you tell me what model Ford truck that gear set you brought me
is out of ? I thought that if I could find out what it is I might be
able to find the part that engages with those outer teeth on the
planet carrier I could take the prop drive off of that. It would
leave the planet set untouched for future
inspection/removal/replacement, what do you think ?

Chris.

Part #78 in the Slauson catalog.

I would not do it because it greatly complicates the gear box
housing. It also adds several pounds of weight to the housing not to
mention the part is itself quite heavy. I don't have one so I can not
say what the part weighs but I'll bet it is several pounds..

What do you have against doing it with the hollow dowel trick. It is
the low cost way of doing it.

Paul Lamar.

True, Paul, I was just getting my head around all the possible
iterations, is all. Chris.

Hi Paul,

Could you send the page from the catalog again?
I was intending to save it but for some strange reason deleted it.
