Paul, Do you have the above measurements readily available. Need them
to get a quote on a flex coupling. Second, Spoke to Ken Garland this
morning Re you impending visit to the Aust SAAA flyin. in Sept.
Mentioned your ignition coil and apparently it is big news here as to
the failure of so many electronic  ignition systems in Lycomings. He
is therefore very interested in having you as a session speaker.  If
you still intend coming, I will forward contact details.

Neil.

I am at home and they are at the hangar. Will send them tomorrow.
Sure! I will be glad to speak and demo my ignition system.

What after market brand of electronic Lycoming ignitions systems are
failing?

Paul Lamar

Paul, From what I can gather  it  is the electronic like Lightspeed.
Nor sure but apparently was the cause of a lancair in Perth (WA) when
on takeoff as usual at the point of no return all went very quiet.
Both occupants were badly burned, one of those terrible accidents.
Hence the interest in reliable ignition systems.  How soon before I
can get coils from you??  The AEM coil can drag 17 amps, just a tad
more than yours!

Neil.

Very sorry to hear about that accident.

Ours is highly redundant with one ignition system per plug
and two independent triggers. One per rotor. If one trigger fails
the engine will still run on the other rotor. If one ignition fails you
may not notice it. Some what like having two magnetos.

Won't be long now. I just molded the second gen trigger.
I just completed the mold today. Pictures in about 10 hours.

I was not completely  happy with the first gen trigger mold I made.
It worked great but the wires coming out were not  secure enough.

We are scheduled to go to Germany shortly to demo the ignition  to some
people over there and test it on an AIXRO rotary kart engine.

Then we are going to test it on an RX7 race car.
I missed the first opportunity to test it on a race car when the
potting compound I bought failed to cure. I got that handled now.

Potting is working well now.

I'll keep the list posted.
