I believe Tracy uses the following dwell settings: RX8COIL 2.6MS
RX7COIL 3.5MS LS1COIL 4.3 MS LS2COIL 4.0 MS
Mine is currently programmed for Renesis coils and reads about
2.4MS on my scope when running at ~1500RPM. I have D585 coils so I
need to change the programming to 4.0MS, the spark may be a bit
anaemic at 2.4MS but it runs.

Good info Steve. Does it stay the same as the RPM changes?
How do you change the program?
Thanks.

Not sure if the dwell changes with rpm/load/? It is hard coded in the
source so needs to be assembled.
Steve
The only way I know how to get the source, assuming Tracy did not
burn the security fuse, Is dump the binary and disassemble it. Have
you done that? One can then burn a new chip assuming you can
decipher the code :) Probably easier to program from scratch.
IMHO you are better off with the RX8 coils as the GM coil are
designed for half the spark rate. Typical of 2 cycle engines compared
to 4 cycle engines. One reason 2 cycle engines use CD ignitions.
Tracy had to use draconian cooling methods to keep the GM coils
alive.

Just got Tracy's EFI system working on the bench. Your right. About
5 ms for the GM coils. It is fixed with varying RPM. Tracy did a good
job handling smart coils with the software. Not an easy thing to do.
Now we need to check the MicroTech :)
BTW Tracy's system is for sale. I switched the RV4 to a carb.
Including a set of GM coils. It has a home made PCM.

Paul,
I am very interested in buying Tracy Crook,s EC2 you are offering to
sell. I'm not crazy about sending cash in the mail, but I'll do whatever
you recommend no questions asked. Tell me how much and how to.
Thank you,
Well you can send it registered or certified. I am not sure what
the differences is.
I might as well throw in the manifold, injectors and the coils.
The whole kit and caboodle. It's got 30 hours on it.
You will have to rewire it. I suggest buying a bunch of 22 gage
stranded wire in as many colors as digi Key has. It will pay off
in the long run. I have tons of docs on this sort of thing.
I would group the wiring into harnesses one for the injectors,
one of the coils, and one for the sensors.
$500 takes it all.
This is more or less what it looks like. There may have been minor
changes here and there.
Send the money to:

Forget digi key. Too expensive.
All electronics has good deal on wire.
