Paul:
The gear reduction unit is from Tracy and is 2.85 to 1. As discussed we
are looking for 200 hp to 225 if we can get it. Thanks for you input and
when I have something drawn up I’ll pass it by you.
Regards
Keith
Don't be afraid to take apart a perfectly good engine and install a p-port.
It is just a book keeping problem. All seals MUST go back to where they
came from.
Buy 4 harbor freight plastic compartmented boxes.
One for each side of a rotor. Gear side and oil drain back side.
I mark rotors with a center punch. One punch near the ring gear
side for rotor one and two punches for rotor 2 of course.
Now mark all 4 flanks near the apex seals on the gear side. 1 2 and 3
punches
Here is the labels you need for the plastic boxes.
Rotor 1 flank gear side
Rotor 1 flank drain back side
Rotor 1 flank gear side
Rotor 1 flank drain back side
Each box has 3 separate compartments for side seals and springs.
Each box has 3 separate compartments for corner seals
and apex seals and springs. Note what rotor side the the short end apex seal
came from.
Assume you have everything filed properly you can clean the rotor,
bore the hole for the p-port or send it to Jeff. jeff doddridge

and let him do it and reassemble the engine. If you put everything back
where it is supposed to go it will run like new.
It is like taking a watch apart and reassembling it.
Practice on a junk engine.
