Hi Paul, do we know what the donor axle is from, to make the output spindle (prop hub)

   It is not a good way to do it. Too heavy. So it does not matter.

When I visited Tracy in Bell, he mentioned a Chevy truck axle and sending it off to have the splines cut in. I would measure the bearing surface at the end and see what matches. I would expect that the bearing and the retaining ring and its ability to match the axle would be the determining factor, when the splines are cut in these will be whatever diameter is needed to insert in the drive gear.

If anyone has the prop flange accessible, measure the distance between the holes where the lug studs would be. Chevy and Ford are different. Ford has a 4.5" bolt circle, Chevy 4.75.
