Very similar to the Dynacam. Certified for aircraft years ago. It was
designed as a torpedo engine.
Would not run over 2000 RPM so that limited it for small planes that
need props
to go to 2700 RPM. Duke's joint between the piston rods and the wobble
plate looks to be an
improvement over the dynacam line contact.
The VE on this engine will also be excellent.
The resistance to detonation is probably because there is no hot exhaust
valve in
the combustion chamber.
This configuration is common in high pressure hydraulic pumps.
