Good evening, I'm Brazilian, engineering student. For some time I've
been tracking your site. I performed some presentations in my
engineering course on wankel engines, used his posts as references.
I am enthusiastic about this engine, I would like to obtain more
information about the compression rate, thermal efficiency,
consumption, among others. In my city/State, there is no vehicle that
has this engine. At least, that I'm aware of.
You have, can you tell me some references on where to find this
information?
Thanks for the posts, by sharing knowledge.

The Mazda RX8 engine compression ratio is 10:1
The best BSFC we have seen so far is .47. Only slightly higher than
most air cooled aircraft piston engines at .45.
if you have access to google in Brazil you can google Mazda RX8 and
BSFC.
Brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is a measure of the fuel
efficiency <
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_efficiency of any
prime mover that burns fuel and produces rotational, or shaft, power.
It is typically used for comparing the efficiency of internal
combustion engines
<
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_combustion_engines with a
shaft output.
It is the rate of fuel <

consumption divided by the power
<
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_%28physics%29 produced. It may
also be thought of as power-specific
<
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Specific fuel consumption, for this
reason. BSFC allows the fuel efficiency of different engines to be
directly compared.
2.5 million Mazda Wankel engines have been sold world wide since
1970.

Mazda announced that the rx7 will be on the market again with an
improved rotary engine in 2017.

I heard that it would be a F1 style turbo compound of 350 or 450 HP
