Paul Having grief trying to locate the bearing that Tracy
uses in the
Reduction box.  It is 80mm OD,  60mm ID and 4mm
thick. Both sides and
needles are made into the one unit.  Is there a bearing
number or where
can I get these??

I can't find that exact size either. Look at these two.

Both are RPM limited to 3600 RPM. Not good.

No need for an exact replacement. A stack of at least three
needle bearings
will work well. Each bearing will rotate at 1/3 shaft
speed.


Perhaps you are talking about a Ford C6 part inside the
planet carrier?
Sounds like it as 80 mm is over 3 inches in diameter. Too
big for
the helical gear thrust bearing. In that case the RPM is
much lower.
Slauson would have it.

Paul   Are you relying upon the oil viscosity to divide the speed between the 3 thrust elements?

It will work dry or wet with oil I suspect. As you go down through the stack.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

We know for a fact it works as some people have hundreds of hours
