We have been EDM-ing holes in the Ford planet shafts for
the purpose of bolting the planet carrier to the prop
shaft. This eliminates the expensive splines which can cause
back lash. This is the way Ross did it.

The splined planet carrier is not even  available for the Ford
rear planet carrier needed for the 3.12 to one gear box.
Best gear ratio to use if you want well over 200 HP.

Unfortunately the price for doing this has almost
doubled from about $150 USD to $285 USD so I am working on
another lower cost  solution. More on this latter.
