It is kind of strange for Mazda to have the oil pump on the front of the
engine
and feed the oil into the back of the engine. This started in 1968 and
is the
same to this date. It complicates the external oil filter plumbing. Jim
Medere
modified this system so oil is fed in at the back AND the front of the
TTC engine.

I am sure you will have thought of it, but would using antifreeze in the
total loss
water to cool the time to climb engine and dropping the water temp to
just above its
freezing level give you a worthwhile cooling gain?

We have been told by Jim Medere our warranty is void if we let it get
above 180F :-)
He also told us not to use total loss. We considered it. That was our
first guess because it would
not need that much cold water.
