Paul, I just got some software installed to work with 3D models and
wanted to see if you could forward me a copy of the assembly of a13b
engine to work on. I plan to use it to do a PPort set up using a CNC
machine I have access to as well as machining grooves in the cooling
jacket at first. I know your out and about, this is no rush as this
is new software for me. The nice thing is the software is pretty
simple to learn and use. Regards, Ray Hellstrom
Can it import IGES files?
Paul Lamar
Paul,
It appears it can with the cravat that if I want to form a solid from
the imported IGEs data, it would need to be exported as "trimmed"
surfaces or solids. So, does that help or is that more confusing?
I am working with 2015 Solidworks from Dassault Systems on a student
license which is way cheaper as well as a far better and easier than my
experiences with drafting, modeling and GIS software I used over the years.

We send IGES to solid works all the time.
Steep learning curve on Solid Works :-)
Remind me again latter today. The CAD is at the
hangar.
