Paul, Unfortunately I will be unable to attend Ausfly, if anyone gets
the Rotary bug from you please let them know we have a couple
available with PSRU. One has Tracy's unit and the other has the Ross
version with the appropriate thrust bearing mods. Perhaps you could
give them my email address as we will be travelling all of October
with some email access. Thanks

What is the gear ratio of those PSRU's John? Are you in the US or Oz?
Shipping cost you know :-)
Paul Lamar
My Tracy Crook PSRU has a ratio of 2.85:1, it is already set up on a
turbo 12A, but I have never run it. I don't know the ratio of the Ross.
We had it set up in a gyro with a 4 blade Warp drive prop. In normal
aircraft practice the throttle was designed to go to full bore if the
linkage failed. I do not recommend this in a gyro as the linkage did
fail, the acceleration was such that I was unable to shut it down before
breaking 5 strands of a high tensile barbed wire fence.
Linkage failure of a gyro must reduce power to idle, full throttle can
be dangerous!
I am in Oz, I live near Newcastle so freight would be no problem on the
east coast.

John we may visit Russ McFarland in Newcastle on the way back.
Send me your address and phone number by private email.
Just put the word PRIVATE in the subject box.
