Hi Paul,
I know you've been traveling so not expecting much. Can you update me on status of the ultra fast ignition system.

We've been busy testing the engine and would love to incorporate this asap (even a beta). We are supposed to get 4 combustions per rotation and we are typically getting only getting 1 to 3 per rotation and we are now troubleshooting. We know we are getting the 4 sparks and now are trying to determine any lag due to the ECU or misalignment with the crank sensor. Over the next few days we will be testing the fuel injection system and timing to make sure the issue is not on the fuel side.


I would love to have the fast spark system installed as it would allow multiple ignition for each event and reduce any issues with spark timing. We are currently using a standard OEM automotive coil and it seems to have no issues firing at 2200 Hz (550 RPM). I estimate that it will be maxed out at about 3,750 Hz (ECU supplier thinks 4200 Hz max). If we don't have a solution by then, I am considering two coils and having each fire staggered at 180 degrees instead of every every 90 degrees now. That will allow me to go to ~7,500 RPM, and the next step after that will be 4 coils each firing once per rotation. The challenge is that it will be a bit of a pain having one (or two) spark plugs driven by 2 to 4 coils, but I may not have a choice
Are you aware of any 2 to 1 spark plug wires?

We are working on the printed circuit board for the trigger wheel.

It still needs to be tested on my two rotor in the RV4.
That will need some more work to make it ready.


If your engine is running I might bring some up and test them on your engine.

What town are you in?

No on the spark plug wires.
