These are the liquid cooled heads for the jabiru. I am amazed
somebody has not done this for the VW engine. There are thousands of
VW engines used in small experimental aircraft not to mention dune
buggies. It would be a very profitable biz.
The exhaust valve failures are the main drawback to the VW engine.
The cylinders are too close together to get adequate sized air
cooling fins.

Scat had a complete water cooled VW engine back in the 80's. The
only VW part we used was the crankshaft keys. I was lead man in the
machine shop at that time. What a screamer! We had a dyno, and ran
them pretty often.
Paul did you ever get a E shaft from Dan Torrey? You may have been
out of town. If not, you can find Dan on your airport and get it
from him.

Do you know what hangar he is in? Paul Lamar
Water cooled heads are available. I wonder why some of the AC engine
builders are not using them. They need my book How to Cool Your
Wankel to make it work :-)

Dan said he has 5 hangars there, I will ask him where he hangs out..
He is the Belanca guru, find the Bellancs and find Dan. His company is
called MARS.
