These are the liquid cooled heads for the jabiru. I am amazed
somebody has not done this for the VW engine. There are thousands of
VW engines used in small experimental aircraft not to mention dune
buggies. It would be a very profitable biz.
The exhaust valve failures are the main drawback to the VW engine.
The cylinders are too close together to get adequate sized air
cooling fins.

Scat had a complete water cooled VW engine back in the 80's. The only
VW part we used was the crankshaft keys.
I was lead man in the machine shop at that time. What a screamer! We
had a dyno, and ran them pretty often.
Paul did you ever get a E shaft from Dan Torrey? You may have been out
of town. If not, you can find Dan on your airport and get it from him.
