I believe this is what inspired Russ MacFarland to built the time to
climb project.
There were two ideas. An over and under twin
turbo three rotors and a side by side F82 version.
In both cases we would have about 2000 HP to work
with.
The Reno racing organization suppressed this when
they specified a 6000 pound weight minimum for the
Reno unlimited class. This would weigh more like
2000 pounds or less.
Just like all the car racing organizations all over
the world they were afraid of the rotary so they
try to handicap it with a minimum weight rule.
