The weather is pretty chaotic down here. It is an El Niño year. The
Pacific ocean is one or two degrees warmer. Always happens.

Northern Canada is always predictable. It will be cold. Spent two
years up in Kirkland Lake :)

Yes, always cold and snow. The only difference is the how much. So
far here in Whitecourt, 12" or a bit less of snow and we have not
gotten -30C yet. El Nino affects us also. Incredibly hurricanes and
tornadoes in the summer in the south USA will give us a dump of
rain. That is 1,000 to 1,500 miles away. I hope it does not get much
crazier down there.

Is -30 C .... -50 F  ?

Up in Kirkland lake when it got that cold it did not snow. The other
thing that would happen, surprisingly, the coefficient of friction
between tire and ice covered roads would get better. The brakes
started working better.

-30C = -22F. When it gets down to -50F = -45.56C the snow and ice get very
dry. If you get freezing rain on ice it is extremely slippery and almost
impossible to stand up let alone drive on it. Just the crown on the road
came
aim you to the ditch. People that do not put winter or all weather tires on
have problems. All season and all weather are not the same thing these days.
When it gets that cold,if there is some moisture in the air it drops out
almost
like mist but ice crystals. We had one morning a few years ago that was
-50C.
Freeze the nuts off a brass monkey! Chev had a TSB relating to the auto
transmission in diesel powered 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickup trucks. It
pertained
to farther north as we had not had that cold for a number of years. They had
warranty claims for 1200 transmissions from Red Deer north. Red Deer is
about 1/2 way between Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta. They only had parts
to repair a couple of hundred and the private shops and their part
suppliers got a few hundred more repaired. I know of a few owners that
were told it
would be 1 - 2 months before their truck could be repaired. When they
needed to
go to work they went and bought Fords or Dodges.

This is more snow in SoCal than I have ever seen  in 45 years
since I moved here. We are only 100 miles north of the Mexican border.

Global warming is a distraction by the Democrats to divert attention
from the real serious problems with the US economy and ISIS.

Food grows where CO2 flows.
