This is probably the most sophisticated RT system out there for real
time stuff right at the moment. Real Time Linux is widely used in CNC
machines. There is a lot of development going on in real time Linux.

This is serious real time stuff. It  is about $55 dollars so I am
going to get one and try it.

A lot like the Maximite but a Linux like RT OS.


This is the Element 14 version of the BeagleBone Black Rev C. It's
the exact same as our other BBB but if you have a preference of
manufacturer, here's your chance to support our friends Element 14.

If you liked the BeagleBone Black Rev B, you will love the Rev C! The
Rev C has a blistering 1GHz AM3358 processor and 512MB onboard DDR3
RAM, two 46-pin headers, micro HDMI for audio/video output, USB
ports, 10/100 Ethernet and other I/O features. The Rev C is an
ultra-powered embedded computer that can fit in a mint tin.

This model includes 4GB of eMMC built-in storage instead of the Rev
B's 2GB. With the doubled storage and faster eMMC, the developers
were able to make the Rev C's most significant change: shipping the
BeagleBone Black with Debian Linux pre-loaded on the board's flash
instead of Angstrom Linux. Debian Linux is a more user-friendly
operating system than Angstrom and the switch to Debian is partly the
result of consumer demand (especially from Adafruit users, thanks!)

Of course the BeagleBone Black Rev C is an open board so if you want
to load it back up with Angstrom or other Linux-based distributions
like Ubuntu or Android, you can.

The rev C comes with a mini-B cable for powering it up ASAP. No
microSD card is included as the BBB has onboard flash storage - and
no SD card loading is required to get started. For this revision,
CircuitCo has also partnered with Element14 to try and offset some of
the demand.

We'll be filling in with more information on supported accessories as
we test them for compatibility. For now we suggest picking up an
enclosure < https://www.adafruit.com/product/1555, a 5V 2A power
supply < http://www.adafruit.com/products/276 and a micro-HDMI cable
< http://www.adafruit.com/products/1322. If you want to use it
'head-less', a USB console cable is suggested <
http://www.adafruit.com/products/954 as the 'Black does not have an
onboard USB-to-Serial converter like the original BeagleBone.

This is similar to the Raspberry Pi. Comes with Debian, can load from the
SD card, and is quite powerful. I use one for ADS-B in.Took a Pi, SDR radio
dongle, and a wifi dongle. Load the program and put it in the airplane.
When the avionics Master comes on, so does my Pi and my ADS-B in to my
tablet. All for under $100.00. Its cool. Connect an HDMI monitor and a USB
keyboard and it is a small quite powerful linux computer.

Its the same thing I mentioned earlier. I dont think it will work for EFI
because it takes just under a minute to boot up. Long time if you have an
issue and need to restart the computer in the air. The embedded ones
restart and you dont even know it.
