I re plumbed the turbo with all steel line as Jim Mederer said it
was essential. AN line would melt. This shows the air filter as well.
This is the largest air filter that K&N makes.
This also shows the ATP inconel cover on the turbo.
The fuel injection plumbing was moved to the top of the intake
manifold. The pipe coming out above the turbo exhaust is
the one inch hole in the exhaust manifold to get rid of excess energy.
Normally that would be fed back to the e-shaft in a turbo
compound configuration.
BTW I think the first person to discover the high HP capabilities
of the Mazda Wankel was a drag racer by the name of Abel Ibarra
from Riverside Ca,
Here is a magazine cover from around 1997. 800 HP
from a 2 rotor 13B. Abel told me he got at least ten races out of
the engine while his competitors were overhauling their piston
engines after each race. Abel had to add ballast to the front bumper
to keep the car from flipping over backwards. The car weighed
around 2000 pounds. This wasn’t even a p-port. It was slightly
modified stock side ports.
