We had the waste gate controller disconnected from the manifold
pressure in the Motec software.
This Motec stuff is so complicated and there is no good book on it.
There is a real NEED!!!!!!! FOR A MOTEC BOOK.
I am kind of surprised. I guess they wanted to make sure you hire one
of their $75 an hour dealers.
This is a 68 inch prop 50 pitch so it went to 6000 static at 55
inches of Hg
We are really getting there now.
More data shortly with the big prop.
Imagine the 1.25 open hole is still in the exhaust manifold.
The noise is amazingly painful. Even with a turbo charger. Even with
ear muffs. You have to press the ear muffs to your head and it still
HURTS!!!!!!.
No wonder my hearing is shot :-)

Nice Progress
Maybe not a book.... What's needed is an easily programable ECU that
is intuitive to use yet comprehensive in its flexibility and
capabilities. That, unfortunately does not exist today.
We are currently using one that is easy to program and flexible, but
not reliable enough for anything that flies...... don't want a
software crash to cause a real crash
In due time, we'll probably have to make our own ECU

Open source BASIC on a maximite would solve the problem.
A five year old can learn BASIC :-)

Now, now. Don’t get started on another project, Paul.
Hey, does anybody here remember that guy a while back who was talking
about putting a turbo compound on a rotary? Or maybe it was water
injection. Sheesh, it’s been so long, I don’t remember. :)
Dave Klingler
If somebody does the wiring I will help with design and programming.
That won't take much of my time.
You need an engine , gear box and prop to begin.
We will put everything in the public domain.
I put a turbo compound on a three rotor. I was invited to the World
Motor Sport Symposium and talked the Formula 1 crowd into turbo
compound so there was no need for me to dyno mine. Mercedes,
Renault, Ferrari and Honda have built dozens of turbo compound
engines, dynoed and raced them in 30 or so races for the past three
years.
Turbo compound is rumored to become available on the RX9.
If so I achieved my goal.
My guess is we are throwing away half the exhaust energy in the TTC
engine.
Paul Lamar
Does that mean you’ve abandoned your three rotor turbo compound
project, Paul?
Dave Klingler
It is way on the back burner. This set up is not suitable for an aircraft.
I would work in a boat.
Do you want to buy it? I'll sell it for $11,000 as is.
I'll deliver in the lower 48. Cost depends on where you live?
