Paul, there was a question a few days ago about vertical mounting of the rotary, for helicopters.

Of course all rotors must be able to drain, and a single-rotor engine will probably be OK for vertical if the gearing is at the top. The Mazda 2-rotor with its "handed" arrangement will allow the upper rotor to drain but the lower one ends up clogged.
But Larry Childs' one looks like it could support vertical operation if gears were all facing the same way.

How has he arranged it?  All facing same direction (identical plates), or as two two-rotor sets ( two drainage plates and one central plate with gears both sides)

Facing the gears one way for vertical mount is a good idea.
