Paul, there was a question a few days ago about vertical mounting of
    the rotary, for helicopters.

    Of course all rotors must be able to drain, and a single-rotor
    engine will probably be OK for vertical if the gearing is at the top.
    The Mazda 2-rotor with its "handed" arrangement will allow the upper
    rotor to drain but the lower one ends up clogged. But Larry Childs'
    one looks like it could support vertical operation if gears were all
    facing the same way.

    How has he arranged it?  All facing same direction (identical
    plates), or as two two-rotor sets ( two drainage plates and one
    central plate with gears both sides)

    Facing the gears one way for vertical mount is a good idea. Nothing
    that definitive yet.

    Paul, Drains could be built into the stationary gear flange and
    allow vertical mount with gears from each direction.

   Sounds good.

   I think I will inherit the damaged TTC turbo charger which
   will work for testing on the 4 rotor.
   I also have a new avaid dry sump pump we can use for the
   prototype 4 rotor.

   I'll deliver some day along with the Allison planet.

You should be able to replace the exducer at a somewhat minimal cost. You might find one from a turbo that had failed floating aluminum bearings. The trick is to turn the nut the correct way and use a cross so as not to put a side load on the turbo shafts and bend it.

I think you mean the turbine. It is not possible to replace
the turbine when it has ball bearings.
