Do you have access to Rhino 3D drawing program? There is no such
thing as a 3 view drawings with dimensions these days. Everything is
 done with IGES files. The dimensions are hidden.

The wear plates can be made in at least two ways. A stock cast iron
end housing can be cut down or a new one made of of hard 4130 sheet
laser cut and then chrome plated like the stock rotor housing.

Hi Paul, My buddy uses Autocad and Solidworks, but he can convert
IGES to these. I saw them last night and they develop well for the
machines. As for the plate, I have done a number of laser cuts, like
brake disks and engine block girdles, so that is the way I may go. I
spoke to a specialist anodiser on Friday and he has done hard
anodised Rotorary housings yielding 70 Rockwell; says it is better
than detonation coating, so is it possible that we do not need a
wear plate?

It looks like you whittle the end housing out of solid, or do you
have them cast? I was thinking about hot exhaust gas, would the al
hsg handle the heat through a side port housing or would we need a
PP exhaust?

Have you visited Billet Inc on Facebook? They are located in
Brisbane and  make beautiful al end housings and 4 rotor engines for
the drag racers, -suggest you take a photo tour. You may remember
John Otter the engine builder; well I caught up with John yesterday
and he recommended Billet Inc. John still builds the odd engine but
is occupied with business interests. He has a 20b engine under his
bench that I lust after, but I have no real use for. A lot of
questions there so thank you for taking the time to get me up to

Well it would be good to try and see how it works.

I haven’t made any yet. Larry Childs has. He is a bit secretive about
it so I did not take any pictures. Of course Racing Beat has theirs
cast.

Watch out for the main bearing oil gallery that they do not
partially block the water flow to the lower spark plug cooling
channels. The Racing Beat and stock cast iron housing versions do.

I suspect that is why the lower spark plugs were overheating on the
TTC engine.

All this does is simplify the front end housing by removing all the
oil pump plumbing and rotating the front main bearing oil gallery to
get it out of the way of the water passages to the lower spark
plugs. Notice the tension bolts are not screwed into the front cover.
Nuts are used instead.

All the oil plumbing and the oil pump are replaced by the off the
shelf dry sump pump.

Would be possible to also do a version in which the housings are clocked 180*?
To be able to completely eliminate the external counter-balances? More weight reduction..
Though intake + exh manifolds  would be slightly more complicated...
Then the issue of liners for those housings..

I am not sure what you mean by clocked 180 degrees. The 2 rotor e-shaft
lobes are clocked 180 degrees and that puts the assembly in static balance.
That however  is insufficient. The counter weights put it in dynamic balance.
