I decided to use a Glasair for the 4 rotor Reno racer.
That means I need to move the firewall and pilot aft.
I think I will use one Maximite per rotor for the EFI.
Why not? They are low cost. I'll use another for the EFIS.
The analog inputs are high impedance so four or more Maximites
inputs can be connected to one sensor if need be. Of course multiple
sensors could be used as well. Lots of computer power and lots of
redundancy as well. Motec and Haltech both sell a range of sensors
compatible with the Maximite.
Same goes for the mixture adjustment pot on the instrument panel.
I decided to move the turbo aft of the engine now that I understand the
turbo exhausts manifold better. It is exhaust gas velocity driven and
not pressure. That will also simplify the motor mount.
I looked at a Lancair Legacy and it has the same aerodynamic problem as
the Sea Hawker Glass Goose to a lesser extent. The Glasair tail cone is
also five times stiffer in torsion as well. It has already gone
400 MPH.
The gear box will be Alison truck TX based.

Here is what the engine looks like with the turbo moved to the back of
the engine.
Less frontal area than the TTC engine. Simpler intake plumbing.
Almost an ME109 or DB 600 V12 configuration :-)
Almost the same HP .
Should do 400 MPH no problem.

Paul,
Very similar to the set up I will use on Tom's Legacy! Turbo in the back
works well.
Only major change is we will put the radiator and oil cooler in the
beluga butt using
a mustang style scoop.
Larry Childs
That is going to add frontal area, weight and drag. Mine will beat
yours :-)
They never got this one to cool.
The cooling system on the Glasair will fit under the cowl.
We will be racing each other and the rest will be left behind :-)
BTW I have an idea about shortening the PSRU. I'll send it to you soon.
