   I searched for pictures of the disc brake on Gyroplane Rotor Mast, did
   not find any displayed. As per your "I see no need to do that. Did the
   gyro plane do it in the air or just after he landed?" I did find that a
   few websites stating they slowed the rotors after landing.

   I found very few references to this, I think it should be checked out
   some more.

Hi folks,

I love to pilot gyros!
The rotor brake is used mostly as parking device: Then the wind can't spin-up the rotor.
Procedure is land and come to stop, turn the rotor out of the wind and release the flight-button. now slow down the rotor by brake and taxi to the hangar.

Danger to avoid is a tail strike when you taxi while the rotor turn slow ;-)
The rotor brake is mandatory or safe gyro-operations!
