 I searched for pictures of the disc brake on Gyroplane Rotor Mast,
 did not find any displayed. As per your "I see no need to do that.
 Did the gyro plane do it in the air or just after he landed?" I did
 find that a few websites stating they slowed the rotors after
 landing.

 I found very few references to this, I think it should be checked out
 some more.

Hi George,

I am a passionate gyro-pilot.

The brake is mandatory for safe operations. You have to "park" the rotor
in a safe position.

Keep you avoid from tail-strike when taxing ;-)
