Dan ran the engine for eight  or ten seconds at 57% throttle 7,938 RPM
and 60 inches of HG. He also had it up to 8000 feet.

Here is the complete first flight log. BTW the data was 26 minutes but
we only spent 10 minutes in the air. We got up to 8000 feet.
At one time the pitch angle was 60 degrees and the airplane
was accelerating.

We are now adding airspeed to the logged data.

Unfortunately the GoPro in the cockpit did not work. Things happen
so fast it is hard for the test pilot to grasp it all. The Motec is
sampling the data at a thousand samples per second.

Paul Lamar.

Just casually looking at the size of the propeller it would seem to be over propped. But as stated by others you are probably going to need a lot more prop! 15 psi boost and 8000 rpm is achieved way too early... Aren't you shooting for 38 psi boost? [70" HG roughly]

Thanks Barry.

I agree. Particularly in terms of blade area. Back in WW II a big improvement
in climb rate of the turbo charged P47 was achieved simple by making the prop
blades wider. According to the book "P47 Thunder Bolt". Putting
more or less load on the engine drastically changes the tuning on turbo engines.

Also the Czech PT6 powered Legend has much wider blades with about
the same HP.

Four of the same width blades would help I suspect.

In this cal city screen capture Dan opened the throttle wide and the airplane
accelerated while the nose came up. That is what high powered airplanes
do. Possibly to 60 degrees. He then backed off on the throttle to 50% and
pushed the nose down. The boost came back off a high of 73" of Hg down
to 57" Hg  but the RPM stayed at  7300.

All this happened in the space of two seconds.

It would be great if we could get altitude as well as air speed on this chart.
I have not figured out how to do that yet.
