If you guys are building chrome plated steel rotor housings steel
apex seals
will work. Radius the edges and polish them as smooth as you can.
A lot of steel after market apex seals for the Mazda are junk as
they
are not smooth enough.
I had a professor at UCLA analyze some apex seals for me a few years
ago.
Mazda uses Acicular cast iron
which is the best metal for apex seals
but steel will work if highly polished.
I don't think Iannetti has silicon nitride apex seals for Sachs or
OMC.
I could be wrong. Since you are building your own chrome plated
steel
rotor housings not such a disaster if the rotor housings get
scratched.
