Hi Paul,
here are a few shots of my model aircraft rotary which is very close to your design. You can see how the cooling fins are of greater density in the hot ares and how the end housing is attached to the rotor housing by screws tapped into the rotor housing. Only two are through bolts with nuts on dowels at 1’oclock and 7 o’clock.The rotor housing is cast iron as far as I can tell. I will send a couple more in another email.
