I am being overwhelmed by emails these days, mostly political junk, and
almost daily must clean-house in my email system. I know I erase far
too much good stuff in the process.
So could you briefly summarize what you are quite sure could be done
with an air-cooled single rotor?
Could one put a small turbo on a single-rotor and get a big boost of
power for one minute or so, lets say 180 hp, for STOL performance in a
larger LSA, (lets say a Bearhawk or Cub clone) and then cut back to 100
hp for a lightweight cruise?
Add a big muffler and what sort of weight and cost would we land up
with?

Yes of course. The turbo charge would give you up to about 3OO HP.
The weight FF with gear box muffler and all would be well under 200 pounds.
Sure you could always cut back. We see that all the time in the intake
manifold pressure logging on the TTC engine. The engine is running on 29
inches
of HG. The turbo is going along for the ride at part throttle.
