There are programs that take the output from Rhino and generate the
G-code for
the NC machine.

i just take my model from solidworks, export it in a step file, load the
step file into mastercam x6, then generate all the g-code for my machine
to include tool changes, and if the 4th axis or if my trunion table is
installed, the g54, g55, g56 work code offsets. I just have to mount the
stock, set 0,0 for each offset and send it off cutting.
I for some reason like solidworks more than autodesk inventor (which is
pretty great, well atleast 2015 is), Rhino is my least favorite of all,
and Rhinocam is not all that great plugin, and too expensive for what it
doesn't do. Too much automated in the cam and a bit slow and irregular
in toolpaths. I would rather use surfcam before the Rhino cam plugin.
Oh Paul, upon return home I have decided to make a large cnc surface
grinder. the table will be 20x40, table movement will be 28x40. I am
tired of designing and building a new mill or lathe to have to take it
out and pay to have the linear way mounts and pad attachment mounts very
expensively ground for me. I should be able to get the accuracy down to
+-.0005 vertically....will be a fun project. I am working on the idea in
cad about a 4th axis indexer that will allow for grinding the inside of
a rotor housing.....I can't find any source of anyone building one for
doing this privately, but I know you can buy a machine that will do it,
but very expensive.
