I think an RX9 engine right out of the car with little or no mods
is going to blow the minds of the current light air craft people.
Probably less than $10,000 while the cheapest aircraft
engine is $25,000.

No TBO, 400 HP and  smooth as glass.

Here is some preliminary 3D's on installation in a GlasAir retract.

The turbo pokes through the cowl so I will see what it looks
like rotated CCW 90 degrees. In that case it will require a dry sump
pump.

Retracts are the best bet for the RX9 engine as they can make best
use of the 400 HP.

Glasair are quite cheap used. They go a long way back. Sell the Lyc
while it is still worth something (It is not a rotary is it? :-)) and put in an RX9
engine. They are basically fast airplanes with no fuselage mods unlike those
required for the Lancairs. Plenty of room in the cowl as well.
